Roger Federer - A fallen king?

I signed off the sop cast before the match was completed. Coz I cant watch FedEx losing… Today he seems unsettled, shown poor body language… The pressure was on him not the unknown opponent.. What happened to you Fed?

Certainly its not the end of an era. I still believe He’ll come back much stronger than ever…

Indian Hockey?!?!?

I’m just fed-up with the Indian Hockey… I’m sure, they will never bounce back. Despite of failure to qualify for Olympics, the recent happenings – IOA’s interference, Ric’s resignation put the future of Indian hockey in danger. IOA (Indian Olympic Association) is one of the useless sport organizations in the world. Unless and until the culprits (like IOA president Suresh Kalmadi) are thrown out from the post, NO GLORY for Indian sports ever except cricket. And don’t blame cricket for any reason, there is nothing to do with cricket!

Missing India…

It’s been nearly two months since I left India to do my PhD at UQ. This is what I wanted and always dreamt for. But eventually, I miss my own people, culture, family, friends, even the smell of Coimbatore and yes, of course PSG. Well, I’m writing this as a series of blogs to describe each and everything I miss… I may sound boring but this what I deeply felt when I look back… If interested pls join with me…

My incredible journey!

Well, what can I say… still it’s a dream to me. Born and brought up in a small village, studied in teacherless schools, now started my PhD at the School of Human Movement Studies in the University of Queensland... Oh when I look back, it’s indeed an incredible journey for me… I’m a below average student and after my schooling, I ended up in a scope less course (that’s what people say about psychology course in India), then successfully completed post graduation without learning anything… Later, I realized, worked hard - that’s why I’m here now… Still a long way to go… I still remember Prof. Dweck’s advice to Stanford University students – “Everyone was at the top of their high school, probably feeling smart. Many Stanford students don’t feel smart anymore. I want them to know that [this] experience is widely shared. Almost nobody coasts by and does well...Everyone puts in a lot more effort than you think or than they show...The important thing in your time here is to find something you love and work at it as hard as you can.”

I guess, I found what I love, and working hard as much as I can…

The Green Mile

Yesterday I happen to watch a movie called “The Green Mile”. This movie was adapted from Stephen King’s novel ‘The Green Mile”. Its all about a convicted murderer’s (John Coffey/Michael Clarke Duncan) metaphysical powers. I’m not talking about his supernatural powers but capital punishments. I was shocked when a convicted murderer’s (Eduard Delacroix/ Michael Jeter) executed. Horrible!

Still now, I’m favor of death penalty even though it is cruel. I don’t want to be ambivalent in this issue. I cant think of the cold blooded murderers spending their “life” in jail. If they sentenced to life imprisonment, not only they spend the taxpayers money, their life in jail is better than ours.

Just thing about the Dharmapuri bus burning case, In a civilized society, how can you do such a heinous crime? Those b******* were aware that students were inside the bus and poured the petrol and set fire despite the requests of other students. You know why they burned those innocents alive? – just for a corrupted political leader’s conviction. They deserve it and is the only way for justice to be served. Tell me honestly, will you forgive them?

Extroverts are Better Liars….?

Yes, that’s right. But I’m not saying this…. A research article published in ‘Genetic, Social and General Psychology Monographs says - extroverts lie more often—and better—than shy people.

Remember one thing here, in our society, people think that the extroverts are the honest people and better human being than the introverts. Extroverts are good at manipulating things and even people. When they manipulate things, they’ve to cover-up with lies… so, lies come naturally to them… Am I Right?

38 & Still Counting!

Watching the batting of Sachin is always special. The way he batted today was brilliant. Today we saw much determined Sachin and he was well focused both physically and mentally. The balance was perfect and brilliant timing of the ball, he is always pleasure to watch. Well done Sachin!

I love the test cricket. In fact, I believe that test cricket is the true form of cricket and it’ll never die. ODI’s and Twenty20’s are like instant gratification, but test cricket is the “real test of strength and competency” and the test cricket is the only platform to prove the batting and the bowling skills. The five day’s intense and tough play will give you the real joy and fantastic cricket skills and technique more than any other forms of cricket.
